The
number of times we have been called from a number I didn’t
recognise and wondered who
called us, at one point we started to think that they
where prank calls and began to get a bit paranoid, especially my
husband, about who
called us so regularly. So in the end we took some action
and tried to find some more information about who called us so often
using just the phone number we had.
Searching For
That Number
Our first stop to find out more information about who called us was to
find a free reverse phone number directory. There are plenty
of these available on the Internet. At the first site, we
entered the entire number and hit
“Search.” However no results where returned, we
tried another and the same, in total we tried about a dozen, by now we
where already at the point of nearly giving up our quest to find who called us.
The reason we where having no luck was that the number belonged to a
cell phone. Because there is no central database of cell
phone numbers, free reverse phone directories cannot return information
on those numbers. If only we’d known this in the first place
then we wouldn’t have wasted so much time. Just as and aside,
if the number who called
us had been a landline number that was unlisted or
non-published then the same would probably have occurred and again we
would have been frustrated in our quest .
How did we find who
called us?
Finally after looking at a few reviews we chose to use a paid site
